Microsoft Outlook 2010 Tasks helps you create lists of task-related items. Tasks can do much more than hold your To-D-List. Follow the tips below using Outlook Tasks features to help you stay better organized and keep you way ahead of your deadlines.
Go to the left navigation pane and click on Tasks. On the Ribbon, click the View tab, and then in the Current View, click Change View. This will give you options to view as a Simple List (a list of basic tasks and details) or Detailed (a list showing more details on your task.)
In addition, you can easily sort your task list in various ways. On the View tab, in the Arrangement group, click the sorting method you want to use, i.e., Start Date, Due Date, Categories, Type, Importance, Assignment Folder, and Modified Date. When you click on the method to sort by, your list of task items is automatically organized.
You can see your tasks listed in your main Outlook view enabling you t
o read your email and view your tasks in one place. While in Mail, Calendar, Contacts or Tasks, go to View tab, and then in Layout group, click To-Do Bar to open drop-down menu.
If Normal is not selected, click Normal to display the To-Do Bar on the right side of the window.
If you want to further customize what appears in the To-Do Bar, click To-Do Bar again to open the drop-down menu and select one of the options listed.
To turn off or minimize the To-Do Bar, simply click To-Do Bar to open the drop-down menu, and then click Minimized or Off.
